Get ready to perfect your shucking skills and mark your calendar for this one-of-a-kind Cape Cod Oyster Festival! Once you visit, you’ll want to return year after year.
Held annually in the month of October, the Wellfleet OysterFest is one of the most highly anticipated events of the year! Organized annually by Shellfish Promotion and Tasting, Inc.(SPAT), the festival was created to celebrate the tradition of shellfishing. SPAT is a nonprofit organization that is committed to sustaining the town’s oyster and aquaculture industries. The proceeds earned from the festival go towards supporting this mission.
Whether you’re a fan of shellfish or not, this two-day event offers fun for every attendee. While the mouthwatering New England oysters are the main draw, visitors can also enjoy delicious cuisine, cold beer, live music, contests, games, and a craft fair. When you attend, take some time to tour a shellfish farm, watch a culinary demonstration, or browse the local art and craft exhibits. Other highlights include the Oyster Shuck-Off competition, the Wellfleet OysterFest 5K Road Race, and the Pickleball Red Robin. Check out the SPAT website for a complete schedule of activities and start planning your trip now!
